2023 SCHJA Update & Rule Changes

2023 SCHJA Rules PDF Download

Hey members! A few rule/height changes are in store for 2023. These will go into effect at the 2022 SCHJA Palmetto Medal and Derby Finals Horse Show.

  • The Limit Hunter will now count toward points for year-end. Limit Hunter – Fence height 2’3 Open to all horses ridden by either a junior or an adult amateur exhibitor. Fence height 2'3 with oxers. Horses/riders may not cross-enter into any other division or class over 2’3” at the same horse show with the exception of 11 and under or any 2’3” derbies
  • The 11 and Under division will be run at 2' with oxers in hopes that more of our Short Stirrup riders will be able to participate in their age group equitation
  • The Palmetto Junior Medal will be run at 2'9-3' to incorporate our Children's Hunter riders as well as our Junior Hunter and 15-17 riders.
Look forward to seeing you all soon for a great start to a new year of showing!
